Game of patience
I’m still waiting for the response from the 'Association' but in the meantime, we just have to continue training. I’m so not prepared!

Training has been slow…
But I feel that I’m getting back to my normal self (or even better). I did a 5K run and some weights yesterday and I feel good today. Oh, yes!

Group C: England vs USA
There wouldn't much debate about it before but USA have been playing well and as their coach said they want 'respect'. What's better than beating England? I think England will win 1-0 although my heart and soul are shouting for 4-0. Whatever the outcome, I believe both teams are strong and will proceed to the next stage.

Group B: South Korea vs Greece and Argentina vs Nigeria
Without any doubt South Korea will win their match against Greece. They play with intensity and they maintain that kind of style for 90 mins or more, depending on the stoppage time of course. Greece simply aren't that good. They've struggled throughout their qualification rounds. The team, I believe, is new and lacks experience.
Argentina is so unpredictable this time round. Although you'll have concerns with Maradonna's managerial qualities, the list of players they have is quite simply, frightening. I have great respect for Messi. I hope he can excel his talent this time on international stage, like what he does day in and day out in La liga with Barcelona. I would predict the game 1-1 though. The truth is I have very little knowledge of Nigeria. I just have a feeling that Argentina is yet to play like a team.

Group A: South Africa vs Mexico and Uruguay vs France
nemo's prediction is 2-1 to the local boys, South Africa. It's my wild card and I believe with optimism that they can get through this match unharmed. But I also believe Mexico will qualify for the second round.
Unfortunately, fans and players are not even behind their national team, France. Uruguay on the other hand have renewed strength and belief that they can top this group. I'd say 1-1.

Weight lose?
I've reached my target weight for long distance running somehow and yet I've not trained one bit. How uncanny is that? I guess it's a message to get back into running and beat up my mileage record last year. Either that I should write a book.

14 days to go and counting..
As an England supporter, I have a lot of expectation and belief that we (England) will win the World Cup again. And this time in South Africa, we believe it’ll be our turn. With a string of managerial changes since the early 2000, we have discovered a good manager. Maybe not as special as "The Special One" but he is a pro. He utilises the team’s strengths and limits its weaknesses. Could this be the time? It is certainly the last chance for many so-called Golden Generation in the team. Let’s just hope that we don't judge them too much and even if we fail to win the cup, we must back up our players through thick and thin. Come on England! Bring it on!

Tokyo Marathon 2010
Tokyo Marathon Partie Deux
nemo is not the man as he was yesterday. He’s a better man today. That is a fact. A gruelling run with ghastly rain weather condition didn’t help nemo much to hit sub-5 for this race. It was like a run (fight) to hell (the death). Rain poured like waterfalls and the temperature dropped lower than first anticipated. And he hit the wall a few times (approx 22K, 27-30K and 40K mark) only to learn that training and gradual increase of mileage are essential. But overall fitness and I guess, technique, and running form have improved and so as his recovery rate. Thanks to proper stretching and yoga (yes, yoga), his knees feel on top form.
Here’s the recap of the race:

Remember that inspiration is within us all. Others remind us that it’s there. You’re given a choice. A choice that others might not have. So it’s up to you to do something about it.
I’ll see you next year Tokyo.

I have a feeling
nemo is feeling good! His knees are as good as new. The only drawback now is his fatigue. Maybe due to his irregular sleeping pattern which hinders his overall training. But it can’t be helped. Lj is now part of the new and improved nemo. He’ll just have to weigh it up and adjust.

Gearing up
January equals a new beginning. Or more like a kick in the butt for nemo - get your fat arse moving so that you focus on your training. TM10 is around the corner and nemo isn't ready. Although he topped up his mileage on the last run which is pretty impressive, he still need to put more effort into it and be more consistent. You can do it!
